Flood Victims Will Have Some Financial Relief When Rebuilding

Several area utilities and agencies announced plans today to waive fees for flood victims.

Piedmont Natural Gas and Nashville Electric Service will not charge reconnection fees to customers affected by the disaster. In addition, the gas company is waiving the charges for late payments for the next two months and has pledged not to disconnect anyone for nonpayment during that time.

Metro Codes will not charge the usual permit and inspection fees for flood-related construction work at homes and small businesses. Metro Water is waiving late fees throughout the month of May.
