Brad Hopkins announced his retirement from the NFL today after 13 years with the Tennessee Titans.
The Titans released the former left tackle on March 1. Hopkins says he considered playing elsewhere, but didn’t want to adjust to another team or uproot his family.
Hopkins displayed a range of emotions today saying his highest achievement was gaining respect over the years in the locker room.
“Ultimately the winning is the most important thing, but those relationships that you make and the camaraderie and the brotherhood, those are the things that will be most missed.”
Hopkins says he might pursue a career in sports broadcasting either on the local or national level.
Hopkins and Steve McNair, who was traded last week, were the last two remaining players to have played with the Houston Oilers before the team moved to Tennessee in 1997.
