A Bronze Star winner and a Purple Heart recipient from Fort Campbell was killed Friday in Afghanistan.
Sgt. John Paul Castro of Andrews, Texas, died after being struck by small arms fire in the Paktika province.
The 25-year-old was an infantryman with the 101st Airborne Division.
He leaves behind a wife and step-son in Clarksville and a daughter in Georgia.
