A young soldier died Monday at Fort Campbell following an Army physical fitness test. Pfc. Marshall Montelus was assigned to the 4th Brigade Combat Team. The incident is under investigation, according to a statement from the post.
The Army’s annual fitness test includes sit-ups, push-ups and a two-mile run. All soldiers are required to participate, no matter their age.
The 24-year-old Montelus is survived by his mother who lives in Brooklyn, New York.
