A 21-year-old infantry soldier out of Fort Campbell was killed Sunday in Afghanistan.
Spc. Brian Tabada of Las Vegas was wounded when his unit was attacked by small arms fire and a rocket propelled grenade.
Tabada is part of the 1st Brigade of the 101st Airborne. Casualties have slowed in recent weeks as the division begins returning home from a year-long deployment. But Fort Campbell has had a tough year, with more than 110 soldiers killed in the last 12 months.
