Guns in parks will continue to be banned in two more mid-state cities.
Yesterday, Franklin voted 6-2 to opt of a new state law that allows permitted gun owners to carry their weapons into public parks. The city of Brentwood and Williamson County voted to opt out of the new state law earlier this summer.
Last night, the city of Hendersonville voted 11-2 to also keep guns out of parks.
In Davidson County, the issue is still under consideration.
Earlier this week, Tennessee’s Attorney General issued an opinion that an existing law banning guns in parks if schools hold sporting events there trumps the new one that goes into effect September 1st.
