Of the Metro Council's 35 district seats, more than a dozen will have fresh faces after Thursday's election.
And eight districts are still undecided, heading to runoff contests after close votes. Among the runoffs are tough contests for four current council members who faced strong challengers:
- In District 2, Councilman DeCosta Hastings got 39% and faces Kyonzté Toombs, who had 31%.
- In District 21, Councilman Ed Kindall got 36% and faces Brandon Taylor, who got 33% in a five-way race.
- In District 23, Councilwoman Mina Johnson got 47% to challenger Thom Druffel with 44%.
- In District 26, Councilman Jeremy Elrod got 36% and trailed challenger Courtney Johnston 41%.
