Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, Zed’s Dead, Liquid Stranger and Odesza are the headliners for Bonnaroo this summer. The lineup for the festival in Manchester, Tennessee, came out Tuesday.
Despite the national reputation, it’s still a regional festival.
Living a stone’s throw from Manchester, there’s Paramore, Three 6 Mafia, My Morning Jacket, Sheryl Crow and Tyler Childers.
A major festival lineup can also serve as insight into the future. Peculiar is Nashville’s Diarrhea Planet, a band that hasn’t released new music in seven years but who did headline the final shows at Exit/In. It could mean that they have new music on the way or that they are just having a moment.
To everyone who followed us after the @bonnaroo lineup announcement:
We are not a joke band with a joke name.
We are a very serious band with a joke name.

One of the most notable headliners this year is the Foo Fighters. This headlining show will be one of their first since the passing of drummer Taylor Hawkins.
Eyes will also be on attendance this year. After reaching a high-water mark of 100,000 attendees pre-pandemic, the festival only pulled in 40,000 in its post-pandemic return last year.

In 2023, they will be leaning on dance and electronic DJs, which have worked well with the large audiences at Bonnaroo in the past.
Tickets, which start at $175 for one-day access to the fest, go on sale for those with early access on Thursday, Jan. 12.
