Goodlettsville Falls to Dominant Tokyo Team in Little League World Series

The all-stars from Goodlettsville experienced heartbreak in the world championship game Sunday. A squad from Tokyo got ten runs ahead, ending the game early on account of a mercy rule.

Ultimately, Tennessee fell by a score of 12-2.

Goodlettsville’s loss in the World Series title game followed a dramatic finish in the U.S. championship on Saturday. The 12-year-olds ended up winning handily over a team from California in extra innings after nearly squandering a 10-run lead.

While disappointed, the Goodlettsville boys will return having achieved several firsts. No team from Tennessee had made it to the World Series final.

A welcome home celebration is planned at Goodletsville city hall Monday morning at 11.
