Gov. Bill Lee’s second address to the Tennessee legislature Monday night is likely to focus largely on education.
Last year, school vouchers made news during Lee’s State of the State address.
This year, the governor says he’ll have details on another education item — the Basic Education Program. That’s the formula Tennessee uses to fund public schools.
The formula has been at the center of controversy. Many public school advocates say it’s outdated and that it underestimates teacher salaries.
Lee’s State of the State address is slated to begin Monday at 6 p.m.
