The governor’s bill to improve long-term care options for the elderly advanced in both legislative houses today.
The bill sets up a system under which more TennCare recipients in the state can remain in their homes or in residential settings with assistance that wouldn’t be as expensive as skilled nursing care.
The Senate Finance Committee approved its version of the bill this afternoon and the measure could soon go to the Senate floor. In the other chamber, the bill awaits the House Finance Committee.
