Incarcerated people experiencing long sentences, separation from loved ones, and harsh conditions can feel intense isolation, despair and a profound loss of hope. Nashville-based, “Higher Love” is trying to make a difference by bringing live musical performances into prisons. Ron Miller, founder and director of the organization, says that his team and volunteer musicians vow to “do life” with incarcerated men and women, showing them that they are not forgotten and have great worth, no matter where their past has brought them.
