Skip Prichard says he plans to step down June 8th.

The CEO of Ingram Content Group announced Friday he’s stepping down in just a matter of weeks.

Skip Prichard has been at the helm of the LaVergne-based book distributor for five years, overseeing a reorganization of the company. He says in a statement that “part of leadership is knowing when you have completed the mission.”

The timing, Prichard says, has to do with John Ingram wanting to assume a more direct role in his family-owned company.

When Prichard arrived, the company was Ingram Book Group. He helped broaden the company by bringing book distribution, print on demand, and digital books under the umbrella of one company.
