The former owner of Cassman Financial Group has been sentenced to four years in prison for mail and securities fraud. 35-year-old Jeffrey Cassman of Nashville has also been ordered to repay half a million dollars to victims of his Ponzi scheme, some of whom were members of his church.
According to U.S. Attorney Jerry Martin, Cassman will be barred from working in financial or investment positions. He fled the country after learning law enforcement was investigating his crimes but returned to plead guilty late last year. His investment scheme dated back to 2003.
