Runoff early voting results are in, and Delishia Porterfield, Quin Evans-Segall, Burkley Allen and Olivia Hill are leading the race for the four remaining at-large seats on Nashville’s Metro Council.
Close behind is Chris Cheng — with Howard Jones, Russ Pulley and Jeff Syracuse behind.
In the first round of voting this August, only incumbent Zulfat Suara cleared the 10% threshold to automatically win a seat. In the runoff, the top eight at-large candidates after Suara competed for the remaining four seats.
Porterfield, currently the councilmember for District 29, and Evans-Segall, vice-chair of Metro government’s Industrial Development Board, emerged as progressive favorites.
Allen is the only incumbent at-large councilmember in the runoff.
If elected, Olivia Hill would be the first openly transgender elected official in Nashville’s history.
