
The U.S. Supreme Court will begin hearing arguments Wednesday on whether Tennessee’s ban on gender-affirming care is constitutional. The case is going before the nation’s highest court less than two years after Tennessee lawmakers passed the bill, which prohibits transgender youth from accessing care like hormone therapy or puberty blockers.
While some families of trans kids have filed legal challenges to Tennessee’s laws, some have decided to leave the state entirely.
