The secret to producing great children’s music is not to hire children, apparently. Dale Richardson, who owns KidCall Talent, says she puts one really little kid right next to the microphone — and then fills most of the chorus with older children and trained adults who sing in young-sounding voices.
One of these adults is Dale’s daughter Maggie, 21, who’s been singing in the studio since she was actually a child. WPLN’s Blake Farmer asked Maggie Richardson to demonstrate how she makes her voiced high-pitched and perfectly imperfect.
