Gov. Bill Lee is set to deliver his State of the State address tonight at 6 p.m. WPLN News will air the speech in its entirety on 90.3 FM and online through WPLN.org.
After winning re-election in November, Gov. Lee announced that infrastructure would be his top priority during his second term. His main goals are to ease traffic congestion caused by growth around the state. So far, he’s proposed the idea of adding toll lanes to help.
Lee has also spoken about helping to fix problems with the Department of Children’s Services by increasing funding so that it can attract and retain employees.
Tennessee Democrats released a prebuttal ahead of the governor’s speech on Monday, calling on Lee and state Republicans to end police brutality following the death of Tyre Nichols. Nichols died after he was violently beaten by five police officers during a traffic stop in Memphis.
