A little-league baseball team from Goodlettsville is within just three wins of clinching a World Series title. It’s drawing all kinds of attention and praise to Goodlettsville, says former mayor and longtime city manager David Wilson.
People are talking about it in church and at coffee shops, Wilson says, recounting one conversation with a local economic development official:
“He said I couldn’t get this kind of publicity or exposure for a hundred thousand dollars. And he was just really excited about how the city of Goodlettsville is getting on the map as a result of this.”
The team has played on ESPN, and ratings show lots of people are tuning in. A recent game had more viewers than when the Nashville Predators play on TV. Tonight the little-leaguers face the southwest regional champions from Texas.
