Nearly three years after nursing student Holly Bobo went missing, a grand jury has handed down indictments of kidnapping and murder.
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation director Mark Gwyn announced the charges against 29-year-old Zachary Rye Adams Wednesday afternoon in Decatur County. Some in attendance gasped.
Family and friends of Holly Bobo had been holding out hope that she could be found alive. Rewards in the hundreds of thousands of dollars were offered. Her picture can still be found in West Tennessee truck stops.
“They’ve been devastated for three years,” Gwyn said. “But hopefully this is the beginning of closure for the Bobo family.”
The TBI is staying quiet about what led to Wednesday’s arrest, other than to say information caused them to launch a full-court press about a week ago.
Adams is being held without bond in the Chester County jail. His first court appearance is scheduled for March 11.
