The controversial May Town Center in Bells Bends is off the table, for now.
This afternoon developers withdrew their request to have a “redo” on a hearing to change the zoning to allow the 1,500- acre project.
Originally, developers were going to ask the planning commission to simply delay revisiting the issue, but moments before this afternoon’s meeting they decided to pull their request altogether.
On June 25, the planning commission rejected May Town’s zoning request. Developers say there were procedural errors during that meeting and that’s why it should be looked over again.
Even though their request was taken off the table today, they can bring it back within 60 days.
