Three Nashville area industrial companies reported to the state this week final figures on layoffs over the last few months.
Trinity Marine Products in Ashland City manufactures river barges. The company has laid off 55 workers since October.
Two companies closed their facilities in Murfreesboro and have now reported the layoff totals. Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation filed for Chapter 11 protection this year. The Missouri-based packaging company laid off 37 employees in Rutherford County.
Nearby L&W Engineering closed its plant in Murfreesboro this fall and laid off 85 workers. L&W is an auto supplier based in Michigan and continues to operate another plant in Lebanon.
