One of the two remaining missing people in Nashville after last week’s flooding was found in a remote area of Mill Creek Wednesday.
The body is presumed to be that of 18-year-old Daniel Brown. He and two friends tried to raft the swollen Mill Creek on inner tubes last Sunday.
The 10-day search and rescue effort included teams from the Nashville Fire Department, Metro Police and department trainees, civilian volunteers and half-a-dozen cadaver dogs.
Ultimately, the victim was found in an area inaccessible because of flood waters until this week. An off-duty fire captain, volunteering his time, found the body and hauled it up a 30-foot bluff.
Search efforts in Nashville are now solely focused on Danny Tomlinson. The 39-year-old’s car was recovered in Bellevue without him in it. Rescue teams are combing the banks of the Harpeth River.
