Another poll shows a tight U.S. Senate race between Republican Bob Corker and Democratic Congressman Harold Ford Jr.
Mason-Dixon Polling and Research released poll results on Sunday that showed 43% of likely voters favored Ford, compared to 42 % favoring Corker. This morning, Middle Tennessee State University’s poll results show nearly the same numbers – 42 % for Ford, 43 % for Corker.
Ken Blake directed the poll. He’s says polls results from MTSU and Mason Dixon show that about a fifth of the state’s voters remain undecided.
“It’s hard to tell what issues motivate people when it comes to voting, but interestingly, the immigration issue does not appear to be a defining matter between the two candidates. That was a surprise because, of course, a lot of the advertising has emphasized immigration, and it doesn’t seem to click with the voters we talked to.”
The MTSU survey polled 549 likely voters by phone from September 19th through September 30th. The margin of error of plus or minus 4% is the same as the Mason-Dixon poll.
