Airports around the country are adding amenities to make the wait for flight delays or layovers a little more bearable.
Nashville International has followed suit with a local twist – recently adding an O’Charley’s, Baja Burrito and Whitt’s Barbeque.
Airport CEO Raul [as in ‘Paul’] Regalado says more is coming.
“If you’ve been down and seen some of the new names and brands, well in January the other half of that whole area opens up. So what you see now is only about 40-percent of what will be there in January.”
Some of the local offerings coming at the first of the year include Noshville, Tootsie’s, Swett’s and a Gibson Café.
Today is the second largest air travel day in Nashville for the holiday week, with Sunday being the busiest. 14-thousand-8-hundred passengers are expected to board flights, down by nearly 12-hundred from projections last year. The latest forecasts show roughly a thousand fewer passengers per day when compared with last year. Still, 60-thousand passengers will move through Nashville International from today through Sunday.
