The Nashville-based Global South Summit today issued a challenge to transform nutrition, health, or food production and logistics with one million dollars of seed money. To that end, the Nashville Entrepreneurship Center will run an international competition, using funds from angel investors, private equity groups and TNInvestco, the state program meant to help new companies form in Tennessee.
While the prize money is set at a million dollars total, it could be given to one winning proposal or split among several. Beyond that, details won’t be made public until late April.
The idea for the contest came from discussions about food and health at last year’s summit.
