The four U.S. hotels with the most demand from the event-planning industry are all in downtown Nashville. That’s according to Cvent, a technology company that serves event planners.
Data the company collected from its users showed that the Renaissance, JW Marriott, Hyatt, and Omni are all highly sought-after locations. Cvent also rated Nashville fourth in a list of top U.S. cities for hosting events.
Nashville’s hotel industry seems to be responding to that demand. The market research company STR says Nashville will add nearly 3,000 new hotel rooms this year, more than any U.S. city other than New York.
Will increasing hotel capacity help Nashville land a Super Bowl? It could — but there are still other factors. The stadium will be on the smaller end compared to past hosts, and cities need to be invited to apply to host. That means NFL execs need to be impressed by their future visits to Nashville.
Correction: This story originally said that Super Bowl host stadiums must meet a minimum capacity standard. The NFL has relaxed that requirement.
