
Metro Nashville will resume curbside recycling on Feb. 1.
The city halted recycling in December following staff shortages that affected trash pickup for several weeks. This has been a recurring issue with the city’s contractor, Red River Waste Solutions, which filed for bankruptcy in the fall.

“I want to thank Metro Water Services and the employees at its Waste Services division for working long hours to cover for the failures of a private company and get curbside recycling back on schedule,” Mayor John Cooper said in a press release.
The city intends to start every-other-week recycling by July.
