A special treaty signing in the rotunda of the Country Music Hall of Fame has made Australia’s country music capital Nashville’s newest sister city.
Tamworth, in New South Wales, is home to the largest annual country festival in the southern hemisphere.
A delegation of thirteen officials and residents of the cities travelled to Nashville for the signing. A handful of Australian country music fans in town for CMA Music Fest also found their way to the event formalizing a union between the cities.

Nashville already has similar connections to seven other cities around the world, with regular visits between dignitaries and special travel programs for exchange students.
