Several hundred Davidson County DUI cases are up for review because they involved blood tests handled by a now-fired crime lab employee.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation dismissed forensic scientist Kyle Bayer this week for switching samples in two cases. While the TBI believes the error was likely an isolated incident, it calls into question every blood test performed by Bayer.
In a letter to judges, attorneys and the Chief of Metro Police, District Attorney General Torry Johnson says his office has identified every local case that needs to be reanalyzed.
