About 250 soldiers will return home to Tennessee just in time for Independence Day.
Two units of the Tennessee National Guard’s 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment are scheduled to fly into the guard’s training site in Smyrna on Saturday.
The 181st Forward Support Company and the G Troop of the 278th Support Squadron each have approximately 125 members. They’ve been in Iraq since early this year, and are returning home about six months earlier than expected. The entire 278th is now set to come home this summer.
