The fatal shooting of a Nashville 16-year-old has drawn the attention of a national anti-violence group, including heightened reward money for information.
Nashville police say Cameron Frierson was killed on Herman Street after the Pearl Cohn High School football game on Friday night. Witnesses said shots came from a white sedan with tinted windows.

Frierson was a junior at Hunters Lane. In a statement on GoFundMe, his mother describes him as a determined and responsible kid who was working two jobs to support himself.
“In an instant our lives changed forever,” she wrote. “He leaves behind a family who loves him deeply, including his parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, all of whom are grieving this unimaginable loss.”
As of Sunday night, the family had raised just more than half of the funds it was seeking to help with funeral expenses.
“No parent ever expects to have to bury their child first, and we simply did not have time to prepare for this pain or these expenses,” Brittany Frierson wrote.
Locally, reward money is available from Nashville Crime Stoppers, which is common. In addition, the Uvalde Foundation For Kids has added a $5,000 reward. The foundation was created after the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, and advocates for violence prevention involving students.
