Need A Job? Asurion’s Hiring Again

Cellphone insurance company Asurion is staffing up its new tech support center in Antioch. The facility is expected to open early next year and needs 800 technicians and managers.

Since moving its headquarters to Nashville’s Grassmere Park in 2003, Asurion has opened five different offices from So-Bro to Nashville International Airport and now in the Antioch office park rebranded as the Crossings.

City officials say they’re pleased to see private investment coming to a part of town that has experienced a number of business closures in recent years.

This call center represents a newer segment of Asurion’s business. Wireless carriers have begun farming out their tech support to companies like Asurion. Job postings for new technicians ask that applicants have working knowledge with Windows, Android, Blackberry and iPhone platforms for helping callers troubleshoot their phone problems.

Before a two-year radio hiatus with a Nashville-based healthcare company, Blake was one of the country’s most prolific healthcare audio journalists. He produced stories for both local and national programs, extending the reach of his reporting through a partnership with KFF Health News. Outside of work, Blake can be found running or biking on roads that other Nashvillians consider too busy for such activities. So far, he has always made it home to his wife of 20 years and two children.
