Nissan North America says last month set an all-time sales record. The Franklin-based carmaker sold 136 thousand vehicles in March. Leading the pack was the popular Nissan Altima, which is made in Smyrna, and beat last March’s sales by 27 percent.
Meanwhile the company’s luxury line Infiniti posted almost a 10 percent decrease compared to a year ago. And Nissan’s touted electric car, the LEAF, closed out March with less than 600 sales — in line with recent sums, but far below last summer’s, when several months saw more than a thousand LEAFs sold.
