The latest addition to the Nashville skyline is nearing its final form.
Construction workers have poured the top floor of The Pinnacle. When the cranes come down in the coming months, they will represent the end a high-rise building boom.
The Pinnacle rises next to the Shelby walking bridge near 2nd Ave. The 29 story glass structure is the first office tower to go up south of Broadway, but it will be the last for a while.
Developer Jimmy Barry says financing for the $175 million project was locked up in 2007.
“If we had to do it today, there is no way this building gets out of the ground, whatsoever.”
The Pinnacle should be completed in January of next year.
Barry says the building still has ten floors unleased. Pinnacle Financial and the law firm Bass Berry & Sims will occupy the rest of the building.
