The Portland Police Department has seized more than 100 exotic birds that were living with inhumane conditions, according to the Animal Rescue Corps.
Organization president Scotlund Haisley says African Grey parrots, Cockatoos and Lovebirds were living with “filthy enclosures, putrid water and inedible food.”
Hookbill Haven Aviary is housed in a single family home. Responders say they found other farm animals, including roosters living in the kitchen. Owner Lasandra Walter was arrested and charged with animal cruelty.
