A former Robertson County Commissioner is pleading guilty to running Ponzi schemes totaling $16 million. Edward Polen swindled several dozen investors, using some of their money to pay back other victims.
Polen resigned from the Robertson commission and from a state board overseeing debt collectors, after being arrested last year. He’s already serving time after pleading guilty for theft and securities fraud. With the new convictions for fraud and money laundering, Polen faces sentencing up to 90 more years.
