The National Weather Service in Nashville reports a possible tornado touched down last night in the Sumner County community of Westmoreland.
Sumner dispatcher Cynthia King says calls started coming in about downed trees and power lines at around 11 p.m.
“Our deputies were out assisting getting the roads open, and things of that nature, as well as our emergency management was out there.”
King says most of the roads affected are clear but there still may be power outages. Survey of the storm damage today will help determine if it was a strong storm or tornado that hit the area.
