Predators owner Craig Leipold has called off a deadline of midnight tonight for a group of local investors to complete negotiations to purchase the team.
Predators spokesman Gerry (as in ‘Jerry’) Helper says Leipold realizes city officials and the investor group led by David Freeman have been working non-stop to finalize a new lease agreement for the Sommet Center.
“He understands how complex the transaction is, how much time David, his group, the mayor’s office and others have invested in the process, all with the goal of keeping the predators in Nashville and making the franchise viable for the long-term.”
A press release sent out by Predators management says the goal for negotiations is to complete the sale – quote – “as soon as possible.”
