Tennessee Commerce Bancorp says the company president will succeed its retiring Chief Executive Officer this week.
In a statement, the bank says Michael Sapp will replace Arthur Helf who is retiring as chairman and CEO on Thursday. Helf will remain on the company’s board of directors. He and Sapp co-founded Tennessee Commerce Bancorp in 2000. The regional bank has assets of $1.2 billion.
Helf is well-known for his support of organizations in Williamson County and for supporting Fort Campbell’s 101st Airborne Division. In October, the U.S. Secretary of the Army named Helf an honorary member of the Airborne’s 327th Infantry Regiment. Helf spent ten years in the Army before becoming an executive with Nashville-based Genesco.
