Metro’s newest affordable housing development opens Thursday. The ribbon cutting will include a songwriters in the round session–because the 60-unit Ryman Lofts will be entirely occupied by artists.
Most of the new tenants are musicians, although visual arts and the theater are represented, too. The Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency took months to sort through resident’s applications, making sure each qualify both in terms of income and artistic effort.
The building is part of the city’s mixed-use development on Rolling Mill Hill, just south of downtown.
