The state and federal disaster recovery centers have shut down, but representatives from the Small Business Administration remain in Gallatin to offer assistance. The agency is offering low interest loans to business owners who suffered losses in last month’s tornadoes. Owners are encouraged to apply before the June 5th deadline even if they don’t anticipate needing the loans, since it is the only chance to qualify. And FEMA spokesman Randy Welsch says if additional grants or other assistance programs become available in the future, only those who begin the process now will be eligible.
The S-B-A Assistance Center will be open daily from 10am to 7pm in Gallatin’s Public Utilities Building.
