The suspect in Easter Sunday’s shooting at a Salemtown restaurant has been arrested. A social media post from Nashville police says officers with a special investigative unit found Anton Rucker in Princeton, Ky., on Tuesday night.
Officers say Rucker surrendered without incident and is being held in a Kentucky jail. He has waived any attempts to avoid extradition, meaning he will soon be returned to Tennessee to await trial.

“From the information we have at this point, the gunman was the only one who brandished a pistol,” MNPD spokesperson Don Aaron said during a press conference. “This was not a shootout, if you will. This was one person who decided to pull a gun based on an altercation occurring with another man.”
Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell spoke out about the shooting on social media:
We must continue doing everything in our power at the local level to limit the likelihood and impact of gun violence.
We are continuing to increase police capacity, invest in community safety, and working to ensure dispossession of those who should not legally possess firearms.

Police are asking anyone with knowledge of Rucker to reach out.
On Monday, the restaurant’s owner and head chef posted about the incident, saying that she was “deeply saddened” by what happened and vowing to stand with officials “in combating the gun violence in our community.”
