A two-year-old healthcare company based in Williamson County has announced the area’s largest job expansion this year. Simplex Healthcare plans to add 300 jobs over the next 24 months – doubling its current workforce.
Simplex began home delivery of diabetic medical supplies in 2007 and then acquired Diabetes Care Club later that year.
Matt Largen of the Williamson County Office of Economic Development says Simplex is an example of a start-up success.
“We’ve got to get past this notion of thinking economic development is just about making relocation announcements. It’s more than that. It’s about maintaining a healthy economy for entrepreneurs, for small businesses and for large businesses.”
Largen says Simplex is not receiving any direct tax incentives for the expansion. Company CEO Doug Hudson said in a statement he’s committed to rapid growth through this recession in order to take advantage of diabetic supply companies that are cutting back.
Simplex will move to a larger office complex in Cool Springs later this year.
