State Rep. Lynn to run for State Senate

Mt. Juliet State Representative Susan Lynn will run for the state Senate seat being vacated by Republican Mae Beavers.

Lynn announced her candidacy yesterday at Mt. Juliet’s Chamber of Commerce.

On her blog, Lynn, a Republican gave several reasons for running, including a need for someone to immediately be able to take over the seat held by Beavers.

The 17th state Senate District consists of Cannon, Clay, DeKalb, Macon, Smith, Trousdale, Wilson counties, as well as a portion of Sumner county.

Beavers announced her decision to leave the state earlier this year so she could run for Wilson County Mayor next year.
