Giant belt buckles were handed out Wednesday night by Justin Bieber, as well as Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Hines Ward and Indy 500 winner Dan Wheldon. CMT’s annual awards show aired live on the cable network from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
And the top award, voted on by fans, went to Taylor Swift, who already won the Country Music Association’s highest honor this year.
The 21-year-old singer-songwriter’s video “Mine” took video of the year. She accepted the award via satellite from her concert in Milwaukee. Blake Shelton showed up in person to pick up two awards, including male video of the year. His new wife Miranda Lambert won on the female side, with her song “The House That Built Me.”
