Tennessee Attorney General Herbert Slatery says his office has opened its investigation into allegations of misconduct by state Representative Jeremy Durham.
Slatery says a team of attorneys has already been assigned to handle claims Durham, R-Franklin, sexually harassed three women at the state Capitol and any other such accusations. But he doesn’t know how long the investigation will take.
“We don’t think it helps the state at all to lengthen the investigation, but at the same time, we need to be thorough.”

Slatery says the team will interview witnesses, and he wouldn’t rule out issuing subpoenas — not even to The Tennessean newspaper, which says it has text messages sent by Durham.
Slatery says his office will compile its findings in a report to the legislature that he expects to be made public.
