The defense department says a soldier who died last week in Afghanistan was from Greeneville, Tennessee.
Staff Sergeant Rusty Christian was killed by an improvised explosive device. He was 24 years old, and serving with a Special Forces group based in Washington State.
The Greeneville Sun reports three Afghan soldiers were also killed in the attack, which wounded another U.S. soldier as well.
