President Donald Trump said on social media that he approved the request for help from the governor. The FEMA aid applies for most — but not all — of what was requested.
Cash assistance for impacted individuals was approved for nine counties: Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Dyer, Hardeman, McNairy, Montgomery, Obion, and Wilson. This can help with housing, repairs and low-cost loans. Individuals and business owners can apply for assistance at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-3362. (Aid wasn’t granted locally for Hickman, Humphreys, Lewis or Sumner counties.)
FEMA aid to reimburse local governments and nonprofits was approved for a wider geography of 19 counties.
