That Health Survey In Your Nashville Mailbox — With A Dollar Tucked Inside — Is Not A Scam

Don’t discard a lengthy health survey landing in Nashville mailboxes — so says the organization counting on getting thousands of responses.

The Nashville Community Health + Wellbeing survey has been sent out to 12,000 homes with a dollar bill inside and another $10 for those who take the time to fill it out completely — either online or on paper.

The 150-question survey is meant to provide detailed public health data that’s not usually dependable when part of a national survey. If there are enough responses, some data can even be used reliably in six separate zones in the city. The
topics range from mental health and diabetes to transportation and housing insecurity.

“The questions have been designed to really address some of the issues we know our city is facing,” says Molly Sudderth of NashvilleHealth.

Organizers hope to get most completed surveys by the first of the year and start compiling reports that will inform how nonprofits and the government focuses public health initiatives.
